Misprint of the Day--Enslaved Horror

Today's featured misprint is this foil Enslaved Horror. I've seen quite a few square-cornered cards out there, ranging from cards with one corner square to cards like this with all four. A few have come from hand-cut sheets. Wizards gave away Arena sheets as prizes in the past, so if you see any square-cut nonfoil Arena promos, like the Disenchant, Counterspell, Incinerate, or basic lands, they're pretty much guaranteed to be from a cut-up sheet. A Vintage Hiatus

As most of you have noticed, this site has been on hiatus. This mirrors what has been going on in the Midwest Vintage Community for the last few months. I've been to three tournaments in the last month. Pastimes got 17 people, Xtreme Games got 12, and CoD got 14. My October tournament got 24 people, which is low compared to previous ICBM Opens but is high considering how low all these other attendances are. I'm probably going to run a December Open, but I certainly haven't been encouraged...

The first four decks we went through were control decks. Counter this, Duress that, win slowly. The 5th deck grabs you by the throat. Jeremy Seroogy turn-1-killed lots of people with this. He was Dan's only loss. He crushed me. He crushed a whole lot of people. Then he got paired with his absolute worst matchup, Tommy and Ethersworn Canonist, and lost.

The first three decks we've looked at were decks that you absolutely would NOT have seen in Vintage 6 months ago. Brian Fisher's Death Magnetic is the opposite; it's a modification of perennial Vintage favorite Control Slaver, which has been around since 2003, when Wizards printed Thirst for Knowledge and Mindslaver.

Misprint of the Day--Waldfeen

This one isn't supposed to exist. Supposedly someone at WotC or Carta Mundi printed up some joke cards that have German text, French copyright lines, and the pictures don't match the rest of the text. I have two now. The other I have is a Plains/Wall of Wood. This one is a Scryb Sprites with a Mesa Pegasus picture.

Today's featured misprint is this Karplusan Minotaur/Thrumming Stone pair. I don't know what the blotch is, but it's definitely on top of the card, and it feels sort of like a lottery ticket's scratch-off part.

Well, we've got just one week left until ICBM Open #6. Here's a link with all the information. I have two announcements to make regarding it.

1. Starting with this tournament I will be giving a prize for last place. This time it will be one of these pewter life counters. The last-place prize will be awarded to the player who is in last place in the final standings. Players must complete all rounds in order to be eligible; you can't drop early and still qualify.

Misprint of the Day--Scroll Rack

Today's featured misprint is this Scroll Rack. It's obviously been extremely well-loved. It's rare to find misprints that are played this much, since usually they're relegated to a binder or box. Every once in a while I will pick up a heavily played misprint, though, which is always cool. I try to play as many of my misprints as possible. My Oath build at Vintage Worlds was at least 40-50% misprinted, and I lent Tommy 4 miscut Dark Rituals and a miscut Necropotence to let them get some play time.

Misprint of the Day--Pithing Needle

Today's featured misprint is this Pithing Needle. It looks somewhat like it was torn in half, but that's actually just a massive line of some sort of solvent that dripped across it at the factory; the card itself is smooth and undamaged. This is one of the largest print lines I have ever seen.
